1. Introduction

purifyEmail ("we," "us," or "our") operates purifyemail.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use purifyEmail:

• Account information — your name, email address, and a hashed (never plain-text) password when you register.
• Email content — HTML templates and email campaigns you upload or connect to the Service for analysis. This content is stored in our database and retained until you delete it or close your account.
• AI API credentials — if you enable AI-powered analysis, you provide your own API key from either Anthropic or OpenAI. Your key is stored encrypted in our database and used solely to perform analysis on your behalf.
• Integration tokens — if you connect Klaviyo or Mailchimp, we store OAuth access tokens that allow the Service to fetch and sync your templates on your behalf.
• Billing information — payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full billing details; we store only the Stripe customer ID associated with your account.
• Usage data — basic activity such as login events, features used, and analysis history, used to operate and improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
• To perform AI-powered email analysis using the API credentials you provide.
• To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts) via Postmark.
• To sync templates and campaigns from connected Klaviyo or Mailchimp accounts at your direction.
• To diagnose issues, improve performance, and develop new features.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your email content for any purpose other than performing the analysis you request.

4. AI Processing

AI processing is central to how purifyEmail works. Email analysis, AI Assist, and AI Generate all require an active AI API key. Without one, the core features of the Service are unavailable. You must provide your own API key from one of the following providers, entered in Account Settings:

• Anthropic (Claude) — your email content is sent to Anthropic's API using your own credentials and is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI — your email content is sent to OpenAI's API using your own credentials and is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

purifyEmail does not share your email content with any AI provider using our own credentials. Processing occurs entirely through your own API account with the provider you choose.

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on servers hosted by Railway in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures, including:

• Encryption of API keys at rest.
• Secure (HTTPS) transmission of all data in transit.
• Hashed storage of passwords — we never store your password in plain text.

While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your API keys confidential.

6. Data Retention

Your email content — including uploaded templates and synced campaigns — is retained until you delete it or close your account. You may delete individual templates and campaigns from your dashboard at any time. Klaviyo templates deleted on the Klaviyo side will be removed from purifyEmail the next time you perform a sync.

Account information and usage data are retained while your account is active. Upon account closure, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

8. California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with the following rights:

• Right to know — you may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to delete — you may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use of purifyEmail after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
